Jennifer Valenzuela is an artist located on Maui.
People remember energy. My work is a bridge between worlds—the tangible and the unseen, the past and the present, the personal and the collective. I seek to capture the spirit and magic of place in a way that allows others to experience its wisdom, energy, and presence. Through layers of paint, 22-karat gold and sterling silver leaf, resin, and wood, I translate the passage of time into a single, luminous moment—one that invites contemplation, connection, and awakening.
Each piece is an offering, a portal to ancestral knowledge and the sacred rhythms of nature. I am drawn to places that hold deep histories, both whispered and unspoken, and I strive to honor their essence through my work. My process is intuitive, guided by an ongoing dialogue with the land and the stories it holds. Symbolism weaves through my compositions, hinting at the interconnectedness of all things and the wisdom that surrounds us when we are willing to listen.
My pieces are intended to be prayers—for humanity, for all living things, for the Earth, and for the elements. The paintings themselves are manifestations of these prayers, carrying the hope of making the world a better place. Each brushstroke is an invocation, a sacred gesture of healing, protection, and renewal.
At its core, my art serves as both a reflection and a call to action. It awakens viewers to the beauty and fragility of our world, encouraging reverence, responsibility, and renewal. In a time of disconnection, I offer spaces of solace and insight—windows into the sacred, where spirit and matter converge, and where we might remember our place within the greater whole.
